HOW TO JUMP-START A CAR?

Pitch•“AS MALES, WE ALL THINK THAT WE KNOW WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A MAN! BUT WHAT IS BEING A MAN? & WHAT DO WE NEED TO KNOW IN ORDER TO BE KNOWN AS, A MAN?”

Step 1:

Refer to your car’s owner manual. It may provide important information on the particulars of your specific car. Newer models may require you to use special lugs designed or jump-starting instead of directly to the battery.

Step 2:• Recruit a driver with a working vehicle. • Park the working automobile beside your car so that the

two batteries are close as possible.

Step 3:• Put both cars in park with the emergency brake engaged.

• Turn the cars off and remove the keys.

Step 4:• Pop the hood of both cars.

Step 5:• Attach the red-handled (positive) jumper cable clamp to

the positive terminal on the fully charged battery.

Step 6:• Attach the red-handled (positive) clamp at the other end

of the jumper cable to the positive terminal on the dead battery.

Step 7:• Ground the black-handled (negative) jumper cable clamp

to an exposed piece of clean metal on the dead cars engine. (usually a nice shiny bolt will do the trick).

Step 8:• Attach the black-handled (negative) clamp at the other

end of the jumper cable to the negative terminal on the charged battery.

Step 9:• Start the working automobile and allow it to run for 2 to 3

minutes.• Then start the car with the dead battery. If the engine

starts, wait 3 or 4 minutes, and then remove the clamps one at a time in reverse order.

• Allow the “jumped” car to run for atleast 30minutes before turning it off, to ensure that the battery is fully charged.
