Your event location may provide us with a

healthy challenge, and we thrive on a

challenge, our first step is to get internet to

your venue.

When there is no pre-existing connection, or no

suitable pre-existing connection, which is often

the case, we need to find the right way to

provide good coverage to your event.

Latest Satellite Technology

We use the most modern satellite technology

available, levering one of 64 focussed spot beams

across Europe, transmitted by a broadband only

satellite with an earth hub in Germany.

We pick up the spot beam with our self-powered,

vehicle based satellite dish and sixteen foot mast

and re-broadcast this for your event. As long as we

can see the sky this type of technology will work

anywhere in the world - okay maybe the odd spot

on the polar ice caps is a little wobbly..!

We use this satellite option on a daily basis and

have successful deployments at events like Le

Mans, Moto GP and Glastonbury.


Is Latency an issue here?

Latency can manifest in a delay, just like

watching a live news interview. As they converse

with the studio and the reporter you will notice a

tangible delay from the question being asked to

receiving the answer.

The same thing can happen with satellite

internet, we are prepared for this. Get Me

Connected have some clever trade secrets to

improve things, we will talk about those later on.


4G and 3G

Yes, we can use the same signal your smartphone uses to

get you a data signal on the move. And indeed, you may

question, with data on the move readily available to all,

why would you need our equipment?

Part of what you are looking to achieve is connecting

people to YOUR system, providing a service to your

attendees, and indeed attracting them. You can save

valuable data charges or allowances, allow international

clients the opportunity of free internet with paying roaming

charges and give yourself a powerful marketing tool.

4G and 3G begin to fail when you get a lot of users

together in the same place, the system cannot

cope. Providing a quality internet connection at a

busy event, or an event where usage maybe

higher - like a conference, will ultimately give a

better experience to the end customer.

Could you survive a festival for a weekend without

internet? We firmly believe now that connectivity

at a festival is just as important as toilets!


Wireless Bridges

Wireless Bridges are an excellent option

but requires an existing quality internet

connection a few tens of meters away or

many kilometres away.

It is very much a line of site system and

would always require a site survey.

ADSL/VDSL

Technologies that you will normally use

at home are not always suited to large

scale events, but may be an option in the

right scenario.

ADSL/VDSL needs a fixed phone line, so

no good for the middle of a field or a

popup event in the middle of the street.

There are often minimum contract

lengths as well of a year or more, so this

can soon become very expensive.

There are a few pitfalls which we are more than ready for:

• Wi-Fi was not designed to be used by lots of people

at the same time, congestion can occur

• There are not many channels of Wi-Fi you can use

on the common 2.4Ghz spectrum

• Not everyone knows how to access a Wi-Fi hotspot

We are Wi-Fi experts and understand the technology like no other

• The smallest access point we have is capable of

connecting 480 users at the same time, this is on the

2.4Ghz spectrum and also the newer 5Ghz spectrum

• 2.4 only allows for 3 channels to be used

• 5Ghz has many more channels available which are

compatible with the majority of mobile devices

Coverage

Some events will only need one zone of Wi-Fi, others wider

coverage. It might not be cost effective to have blanket

coverage of an event or you may want to consider defined

Wi-Fi zones to channel your customers to a location, like

food and drink areas or an information booth.

For a large event the Wi-Fi Access points can be deployed

indoors or outdoors and require only a power connection

and line of site to our portable Wi-Fi tower.

Your Wi-Fi connection can have any name you

like, maybe the event name or the name of the

sponsor. You can have multiple names too, for

staff and contractors that need access.

We will work with you to discover which

options are best, and the optimum way to

deliver your Wi-Fi connection, whilst making it

as easy as possible for users to connect.


So that’s the technology covered, what makes Get Me Connected’s Wi-Fi so special?

At an event people often

download the same things from

the internet, maybe the

sponsor’s website or an event

app. We can store these offline

so they are loaded faster on the

user’s device. Preventing those

issues of latency we mentioned.

We can also send different

traffic down different

internet lines for optimum

performance. Or restrict

download speed and filter

out unwanted traffic like

adverts and streaming.

connect to your Wi-Fi or use one of the many social media

platforms available to “Login via Facebook” for example.
