Acknowledgementwas a quick font project, which I wanted to complete in time to give a copy of the result to a friend to commemorate her thirtieth birthday. The inspiration was a considerably older source: some victorian wood type which I had printed about six months earlier. The test word I composed was ‘acknowledgement’

League Gothic / League Ghotic ExtendedLeague Gothic is a revival of an old classic, and one of our favorite typefaces, Alternate Gothic No.1. It was originally designed by Morris Fuller Benton for the American Type Founders Company (ATF) in 1903. The company went bankrupt in 1993. And since the original typeface was created before 1923, the typeface is in the public domain. We decided to make our own version, and contribute it to the Open Source Type Movement. It’s free, not only in price, but in freedom.

PT SansPT Sans family was developed as a part of the project “Public Types of Russian Federation”. The fonts of this project have open user license and can be freely distributed. The main aim of the project is to give possibility to the peoples of Russia to read and write on their native languages. The project is dedicated to 300-year anniversary of the civil type invented by Peter the Great in 1708–1710 years and was realized with financial support from Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications.

TitilliumThe aim of the project is the creation of a collective fonts released under OFL to be promoted and shared through a web platform.

Each academic year, a dozen of students are working on the project developing and solving problems.

The type designers interested in the amendment or revision of Titillium are invited to cooperate or develop their own variants of the character according to the terms specified in the license. We also asking the graphic designers who use Titillium in their projects to send us some character´s imagines used in order to prepare a case histories database.

Cantarell“The Cantarell is a contemporary Humanist sans serif designed for on-screen reading; in particular, reading web pages on an HTC Dream mobile phone….This device runs Google Android and therefore has a web browser supporting the exciting new web fonts feature known as @font-face.

As my very first typeface design, the typeface has many faults, yet it achieves the goal of improving readability on this device.”
