Why Your Hair Is Not Doing What You Want It To

"Confidence is a habit that can be developed by acting as if you already had the confidence you desire to have”

Enhance

Don’t you just love laying and getting your hair washed in the salon? They massage your scalp not only to relax you, but also to remove every trace of oil, dirt and product build-up.

Make sure to do as thorough a job when you shampoo your hair yourself.

Spend a few extra minutes scrubbing your scalp so that your hair is squeaky clean and ready to take on a new style.

If your hair isn’t washed properly, the style isn’t going to sit exactly the way you want it to for long.

Your Scalp/Hair Isn’t Clean Enough

Faulty Heat Protection

We can’t stress enough the importance of adding a product before using a hot tool to shield your strands from damage caused by the heat.

Not using anything before turning on your dryer or hot iron will frazzle your locks.

Be sure you use a heat protectant spray or at least simple serum before applying heat.

Also, over applying it can also lead to problems as it will weigh down your locks and not give you enough volume.

Just use a coin-sized amount, rub it between your palms and apply to your mid-lengths and ends.

Then brush out your hair to distribute it evenly across your strands. This will really go a long way in styling your mane perfectly.

It’s Too Dry

You can’t expect your locks to look lush and fabulous when they are dry and brittle.

Salons deep condition your mane, which is part of the reason why your hair looks so great when you step out.

Make it a point to deep condition your strands every few days to keep them moisturized and silky while cutting down on the frizz.

You can’t skip this especially if you have coloured, curly, or chemically treated hair.

You Are Using The Wrong Products Or No Products At All

The products your stylist uses makes a major difference to how great your hair looks – be it smoothing serums, or a leave-in conditioner.

Take note of what they use in your hair and make sure that the products you use are suited for your hair type.

If you have fine hair, you shouldn’t be using something that will weigh it down and if you have an oily scalp make sure whatever you’re using doesn’t trigger a bout of greasiness.

You Are Being Lazy When It Comes To Styling

We know that styling your hair takes quite a bit of effort and patience, but you can’t expect amazing results if you don’t do the job well.

It’s important to make sure your hair is completely dry before picking up the hair straightener, or curling iron.

Any traces of dampness, and it will scorch your strands irreparably.

If you’re blow-drying, your locks should be about 70 to 80 percent dry before you start the actual blow-dry. Blast dry with your fingers till your strands are just slightly damp.

For best results, make it a point to section your hair into 4 sections – 2 in the front and 2 in the back –while styling, for a more professional effect.
