Why recycle batteries• Many battery types may contain toxic substances that can pollute soil and

groundwater and should be kept out of landfill. They can also be a risk to human health if not safely recovered and recycled.

• Battery recycling helps to recover and recycle finite non-renewable resources.

• Plastics and metals from recycled batteries can be used to make new batteries and other products. With up to 70% less energy used when reusing these materials to make new batteries.

• Current recycling technologies allow all battery types to be recycled so there’s no need to store them at home or work. Most people want to recycle their old batteries rather than throw them in the rubbish.

• By having battery recycling containers at work, school or home you can help your staff, students or family recycle their used batteries.

How to get started1. Order your battery bucket/s online* www.mri.com.au/shop or call us on 1300 439 278

(includes handling instructions).

2. Your battery bucket/s and instructions will be delivered to you.

3. When the bucket is full, book a collection by calling or emailing us, just follow the instructions on the bucket.

4. MRI will come and pick it up and provide a replacement bucket if required.

5. Batteries will then be recycled with over 90% materials recovered.
