Why is there such a high demand for homes in the city centre?
Why is there such a high demand for homes in the city
centre?
Properties in the heart of the City are becoming an increasingly popular choice amongst house hunters, and heres why
Access to educational facilities
Living in the city centre provides residents with much easier
access to educational facilities including schools, colleges and
universities. Students in-particular are a highly likely
demographic to choose a city centre property as this is where most
Universities are located and it also means they have all the
facilities they need surrounding them, e.g. supermarkets, libraries
etc.
Parents are also likely to opt. for city centre properties if they have younger children for similar reasons; so they have access to different facilities around them and also, so they can access primary education more efficiently.
Employment.
No one wants to live dozens of miles away from their place of employment which can be a deal breaker for many house hunters. Those who work for bigger corporations are likely to be based in the regions city centre; therefore is important for them to live nearby.
Job vacancies are also most likely to always be at their highest peak in city centre locations so those who are looking for employment are likely to consider city centre homes before homes in quieter, rural areas.
Reduce commuting.
Commuting is not only time consuming, but it can also become very
costly.
Those whohave been accepted into a top University or have been
offered a promotion in their line of employment may find it
essential to move into the citys centre sothey can live nearby
without the hassle of commuting everyday.
Social reasons.
Some house hunters may choose to live in the city centre simply for
the reason they prefer the hustle and bustle to the rural,
countryside kind-of life.
Being in the city centre also provides a lot of social opportunity for residents; from day-time attractions like shopping centres, to night-time attractions like bars. Groups including University students are one of many who would be likely to pick a city centre property for social reasons.
Migrants.
Migrants (those moving to a country looking for work or better
living conditions) are likely to house hunt in the city
centre, rather thanrural or suburban areas. This is because the city
is more likely to be able to offer migrants the chance of
employment and council housing.
The city centre of different regions is also the most likely
location migrants aregoing to of heard of therefore are their first
choice whenhouse hunting.
