Why does the Chileans doesn´t run when there is an earthquake?

The first thing is that the Chileans are acostumed to earthquakes because Chile is between the Nazca tectonic plate and American countries plate, these two plates move a rate of 7 or 8 centimeters per year.

Chile has been hit by many earthquakes , the biggest earthquakes ocurre in the city of Valdivia in 1960, it had a magnitude of 9.6 on the Richter scale.

The most recent earthquake happened on Wednesday night in north-central Chile and it was of 8.3 magnitude in Richter scale, there was at least 12 dead and houndreds of thousand people were evacuated.

But the main reason is that the Chileans participate in a lot of drills in schools and public places and they learn to stay calm and orderly evacuation is safe and effective.
