Our world: the web
Something new every minute!!
![Page 3: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)
All the CMS are old
Typo3: 1997Drupal: 2001Plone: 2002Wordpress: 2003Joomla!: 2005 (forked from Mambo: 2000)
![Page 4: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
Not that old
because CMS are still alive.
![Page 5: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
Sometimes that old
ElegantSuper-hard tomoveNot 100%compliant withmodern comfort standards
![Page 6: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
Mostly that old
Grumpy but sharp!
![Page 7: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
But we keep them
BECAUSE USERS NEED CMS!!!
![Page 8: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
OK, no-CMS is possible
At the beginning, users probably just want to edit
![Page 9: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
But...
They will also need to manage medias.
![Page 10: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
But...
A validation workflow would be nice.
![Page 11: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
But...
Hence we have to manage access rights.
![Page 12: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
But...
Newsletter is a must-have
![Page 13: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
But...
Plus a document sharing restricted area.
![Page 14: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
But...
Multilingual.
![Page 15: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
But...
Subsites, which are all identical but 2 or 3 things.
![Page 16: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
Next thing you know...
![Page 17: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Face it, you need a CMS
![Page 18: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
And there will be no youngnewcomers
![Page 19: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
because CMS are special
Nobody knows about CMS but us (CMSistas)
![Page 20: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)
because CMS are huge projects
It cannot be managed and developed just like anyproject.
Example: who needs buildout in Python but us?
![Page 21: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
Wordpress = 60%
100% tomorrow? No way!
Never saw any WP at any of my customers.
![Page 22: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)
Nobody promises it will be easy
Is Plone too complex to survive?
All CMS are complex
![Page 23: Why CMS will not die](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042814/5560b769d8b42aef3b8b4a99/html5/thumbnails/23.jpg)
Recipe to survive?
My 2 cents:
make it always more usable, clear frontend / backend dichotomy.

Thank you!
