PATIENT PREPARATION Prior to the start of the treatment, have the patient remove all make- up with water, skin cleanser, and gauze. Gently dry the area to be treated and have the patient lie down on the treatment table.

PATIENT MARKING Draw a vertical line in front of the ear. Do not treat behind this line.

Upper Neck

Draw a line marking the border of the jaw bone (mandible).

Palpate the thyroid cartilage. Draw a horizontal line from the top of the cartilage to the bottom of each ear.*

Place the card over the submental area and mark the outside of the card. Measure 1-3 card widths to either side, drawing a line each time you move the card*. DO NOT pass the line in front of the ear.

Lower Neck

Place a card at the right edge of the cricoid cartilage (outside the trachea). Draw a line down both sides of the card from the cartilage to the collar bone (clavicle), being careful to avoid the thyroid.

*. Add columns as needed, but DO NOT pass the line in front of the ear.
