Learn. Improve. Compete. Are you interested in learning chess? Do you want to improve your chess skills? Would you like to test your chess skills against others in a real tournament for trophies and prizes?
The GSW Summer 2018 Chess Camp, hosted by Professor John LeJeune (Political Science) and members of the Georgia Southwestern State University Chess Club, welcomes chess enthusiasts of all levels from beginner to advanced. Over four days, participants will sharpen their chess skills, explore chess culture, and develop confidence on and off the board through chess-‐related activities.
Chess players of all levels—from beginner to advanced, are welcome!

Our program is designed to maximize flexibility. For beginners, we offer free chess lessons on Pre-‐Camp Tuesday. For the remainder, participants can register in advance for any one, two, or all three days of the camp, at a cost of $15 for one day, $25 for two days, and $30 for the entire camp. The fees include a chess textbook, chess scorepad, and pizza (or similar) lunch.
Note: Registration is limited to 30 participants per day. Please book early by emailing [email protected] with your participant’s name and dates of attendance, or any questions you might have. A response email will provide details regarding forms, waivers, and payments.
