Based on cutting edge learning research, Whole Brain Teaching is one of the world's fastest growing, education reform movements. Our materials, available for free download at WholeBrainTeaching.com, are fun and marvelously effective. Over the last decade, WBT's lively techniques have been classroom tested by thousands of educators across the U.S. and in 30 countries around the world. Whole Brain Teaching K-14 classrooms are filled with the sweetest sound teachers ever hear ... task focused laughter.

What is Whole Brain Teaching (WBT)?

What is WBT Certification? Whole Brain Teaching certification is available at a variety of competency levels from Novice to Living Legend (see next page). A certified WBT educator has demonstrated the ability to effectively use core classroom management strategies and instructional materials described in our manual, “Whole Brain Teaching for Challenging Kids” available at Amazon.com (click here) and at WholeBrainTeaching.com. Letters of recommendation and awards that accompany WBT Certification can be used as significant supplements to an educator's professional resume.

WBT by the numbers-- 90,000 registered members at WholeBrainTeaching.com-- 3,000,000 views of WBT videos on YouTube-- 10,000,000 pages of free educational materials downloaded from WholeBrainTeaching.com

The majority of your WBT Certification Points are earned by simply writing online about our book “Whole Brain Teaching for Challenging Kids” available at Amazon.com (click here) or by completing grade level Facebook assignments. (Sample writing assignments begin on page 8) You can earn points by posting notes in any of the following places (click on the links).FacebookPre K and KindergartenFirst GradeSecond GradeThird GradeFourth GradeFifth GradeMiddle School High School

Whole Brain Teaching Book Club

After you pass Level 5 Certification, points may be earned by starting a blog (see information on page 5. You can start your blog, if you wish, before achieving Level 5 Certification.) Don’t make your entries too long, or short! Shoot for about 200-250 words. Put your entries, with the date they were created, in a word processing file. When you reach 10 excellent entries, send the file attached to an email to Nancy Stoltenberg Director of WBT Certification, [email protected]. Allow two weeks for processing. You will be notified by email describing the number of Certification Points you have earned. In addition, Ms. Stoltenberg will assign your next steps in WBT Certification.

How do you earn Certification Points?

Page 5: Whole Brain Teaching Certification 2.0

Note: All online posts should be approximately 200-250 words. Partial, or no credit, will be assigned to posts that contain wacky writing errors (missing words, misspellings, awkward sentences.) 25 Certification Points: You can earn 25 points by writing about any chapter in “Whole Brain Teaching for Challenging Kids” or your WBT teaching experience. Post your comments on the Facebook pages or the WBT Book Club listed on the previous page. Blog Followers: After you pass Level 5 Certification, you earn 1 CP for every blog follower! Write great blog posts, advertise your blog on the WholeBrainTeaching.com forum and other internet sites. When you have 10 outstanding blog or online posts, send them to Nancy Stoltenberg, [email protected] Include a link to your blog so that your Certification Points for followers may be tabulated.

What is the Certification Point (CP) scale?

100 Certification Points: Create a 5-7 minute sample video demonstrating WBT techniques (send an electronic link to the video to Nancy Stoltenberg, [email protected]). 500 Certification Points: After receiving approval from Ms. Stoltenberg, [email protected], begin working on an Exemplary Video demonstrating WBT techniques. An Exemplary Video demonstrates for 5-7 minutes your outstanding Whole Brain Teaching skill with your students. Please use Class-Yes, Teach-Okay and the Scoreboard. In addition, add any other WBT techniques appropriate to your lesson. So that your Exemplary Video can be posted on YouTube, students must have filled out your school's or district's video permission slips. Online Test: To achieve WBT Level 5 Certification, you must pass an online test, earning at least 223 out of a possible 248 points. The test and instructions are on the Quia website (click here).
