SECOND COLLECTION-MAY 19 & 20 Catholic Charities May Appeal 2018
Next weekend there will be a second collection for the
Catholic Charities May Appeal. In the past year, Catholic Charities has provided service to almost 150,000 clients in need throughout the Diocese. The average income for families seeking assistance is
less than $22,000 per year; that is about $1,800 per month. Nearly half of the families we serve consist mostly of children
under the age of 17. One in four people in our valley can’t support their family or overcome their situations without assistance.
Career and Education Centers are now open at all of their sites and are assisting clients with education and job training. These
FREE classes are teaching clients the skills they need for success in the job market and in life.
You can be a part of the solution as well by investing in programs and services at Catholic Charities. Please help to change a life to-day with your contribution. For every $1.00 donated, 90 cents goes
directly to the programs and services for those in need. For more information go to www.ccdof.org or on
Charity Navigator and Guide Star.
VOLUNTEERS-CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD
Starting in June, we would like to offer Children’s Liturgy every weekend. We currently only have 7 volunteers
who are doing an amazing job. Obviously, we will need more volunteers if we are having a class each Sunday.
Teaching the class involves 20 minutes of your time, x1 per month, and there is almost no preparation.
Everything is provided for you.
If you are interested in volunteering, please attend the meeting on Wednesday, May 23rd at 6:00PM in Room 1.
Please consider volunteering & call the
Religious Education Office for all the details at 434-3522.

Please sign up to take the Voca ons Chalice home. Sign up in the book that
is on the podium in the Narthex. The Parish Office will then contact you. You then have an opportunity to pray
for an increase in voca ons in the Diocese of Fresno. The Chalice is picked up at the end of Mass and brought back to the same Mass the following week.
We are currently asking parishioners to
take home the chalice at the 8:00AM Mass and intend on offering this unique opportunity to
those at the other Mass mes in due course.
OUR MISSION is to be a Spirit-filled community of love, challenging people
to proclaim the good news of Christ’s salvation to the world. We seek to foster and promote
a life pleasing to God through prayer and Sacramental ministry.
We are called to nurture spiritual growth, build our lives on Gospel values
and to reach out to the poor and hurting.
Please join us on Mondays this summer...
