Who would be the audience for your media product? Age The average age for my music magazine consumer would be age 19 (age bracket 16-28). The broad age range means that I cover a mass audience which is also the same for my music genre (pop / chart music). Furthermore, when doing research I found that there was a similar age bracket for festival goers which is something that my magazine also features so therefore it would be appealing and suitable to these ages. Gender I wanted to try not restrict my music magazine ‘UNLEASHED’ to just one gender. This is because when I was researching other similar magazines I found the main target audience and consumers were males. The fact that I have used a female model attracts both genders and therefore is addressing them both equally. But I feel the nature of my main article is aimed slightly more at my female audience. I think this because the article is about an artist who has had a child and is now back on tour; although the artist herself may attract both females and males I feel that this will draw females to my magazine and therefore have more of a balance when attracting genders. I have broken the usual media conventions because I wanted my product to stand out against others but also equally address both genders rather than just focusing on one which both males and females may be interested in. Occupation The audience for my media product will be mainly students with a few who have maybe completed further studies (apprenticeship or university). Most of them will also be in part time if not full time work in order to bring a monthly income, I expect that they will be on the average living wage and therefore be able to afford my ‘UNLEASHED’ magazine costing £2.20 per issue (published bi- weekly). I priced my magazine at £2.20 because this means that it is affordable for my target audience but also in Geographic I would expect my target audience to live in an Urban area, for example towns or cities. This covers those who are studying away (university) but also those studying at home of living with parents as I would expect them to be on an average wage. Because my target audience is likely to liv within an urban area I believe that they will be likely to use social media; by promoting my magazine through websites such as twitter and Facebook it means that my audience will continue to grow but also Social Behaviors My target audience will be very social people who always like to stay connected with friends but also keep up to date with the latest news on music, fashion, celebrities etc. Because of this they may enjoy the more interactive side of the magazine which is mentioned (online) also, I mention online subscriptions which may be more appealing to them as they are very technological and therefore accessing it there would be more appropriate for them as a target group. Who would be the audience for your media product?

AgeThe average age for my music magazine

consumer would be age 19 (age bracket 16-28). The broad age range means that I cover a mass audience which is also the same for my music

genre (pop / chart music).Furthermore, when doing research I found that

there was a similar age bracket for festival goers which is something that my magazine also

features so therefore it would be appealing and suitable to these ages.

GenderI wanted to try not restrict my music magazine ‘UNLEASHED’ to just one gender. This is because

when I was researching other similar magazines I found the main target audience and consumers were males. The fact that I have used a female model attracts both genders and therefore is addressing them both equally. But I feel the nature of my main article is aimed slightly more at my female audience. I think this because the article is about an artist who has had a child and is now back on tour; although the artist herself may attract both females and males I feel that this will draw females to my magazine

and therefore have more of a balance when attracting genders. I have broken the usual media conventions because I wanted my product to stand out against others but also equally address both

genders rather than just focusing on one which both males and females may be interested in.

OccupationThe audience for my media product will be

mainly students with a few who have maybe completed further studies (apprenticeship or university). Most of them will also be in part time if not full time work in order to bring a monthly income, I expect that they will be

on the average living wage and therefore be able to afford my ‘UNLEASHED’ magazine

costing £2.20 per issue (published bi-weekly). I priced my magazine at £2.20

because this means that it is affordable for my target audience but also in the top end of what my audience said they would buy a magazine for if it were bi-weekly (primary information found from my questionnaire

and results analysis).

GeographicI would expect my target audience to live in an Urban area,

for example towns or cities. This covers those who are studying away (university) but also those studying at home of living with parents as I would expect them to be on an average wage. Because my target audience is likely to liv

within an urban area I believe that they will be likely to use social media; by promoting my magazine through websites

such as twitter and Facebook it means that my audience will continue to grow but also then my magazine will be up to date is it could then move to online copies so my young

adult audience could read issues on the go.

Social BehaviorsMy target audience will be very social

people who always like to stay connected with friends but also keep up to date with

the latest news on music, fashion, celebrities etc. Because of this they may

enjoy the more interactive side of the magazine which is mentioned (online) also, I mention online subscriptions which may be more appealing to them as they are very

technological and therefore accessing it there would be more appropriate for them

as a target group. Furhtermore, the audience for my product will be very social so they would enjoy things such as concerts and

festivals so the up and coming events / live column will be appealing to them who

enjoy live music.
