Connect any sensor to an existing industrial bus (RS-485 in this kit)
It can be configured to work as a node in the network, inserting sensor data into the industrial bus already present
Add wireless connectivity to wired buses It can be configured to read the information coming from the bus and send it to Sphere using any of the wireless radio modules available (802.15.4 in this kit)
Connect industrial devices to the Cloud It can be configured to read the information coming from the bus and send it directly to the Cloud using 4G or WiFi radio modules (not present in this kit). Additionally, Sphere offers different cloud connectors that flow data directly to cloud platforms.
The new modules support the most widely used
industrial communication network protocols such
as RS-232, RS-485, CAN Bus, and Modbus,
used for process as varied as industrial
automation, building automation and automobile
applications, for sensor network capability in
remote or factory floor environments. In
conjunction with the new modules, it is also
possible to connect 4-20 mA sensors (current
loop), the most commonly deployed in industrial
environments.

Beathas has released new Smart Logistics
modules for the Jacobin sensor nodes that
provide position, sensing and transmission
capabilities to enable real time tracking, via
3G\LTE, GPS and GPRS. These new modules can
read geo-location coordinates, collect extra sensor
data such as humidity, luminosity, CO, CO2,
temperature, vibration, then send all the
information to a web or Cloud server. Smart
Logistics applications include continuous vehicle
fleet tracking, container goods control, and asset
management, or other location-based services.
In addition, remotely monitor the fuel quality of a
particular Gas station or a string of stations and
keep a record on the cloud through the Sphere
Gateway.

Sphere – Detect your Surroundings
This application is performed with Sphere and it is the only one that does not allow to attach
any sensor. Sphere can detect any smartphone in the area by measuring WiFi and
Bluetooth activity. This way, pedestrian and traffic congestion can be determined in real time.

Configuring your JACOBIN: JACOBIN model is determined by the selected communication radio. Each model can have
different types of antenna: 2dBi or 5dBi for 2.4 GHz models and 4.5dBi for the rest of frequencies.

JACOBIN Gateway Connected by USB to a computer. This is recommended for applications of few nodes that are indoors or for testing while configuring the network. The JACOBIN Gateway is also used to send commands to the sensor network, thus at least one unit should be purchased with the first kit of JACOBINs.
Sphere This is the most recommended option for outdoor networks since it is encased in a rugged, waterproof enclosure which protects it from the harshest conditions. It can receive, parse and store frames in its local database. Sphere can also forward sensor data directly to the Internet via Ethernet or GPRS/3G/4G protocols, depending on the connectivity options available in the area.
JACOBIN-GPRS / 3G / 4G / Sigfox / LoRaWAN GPRS, 3G or 4G can be used in networks placed in difficult access locations, when using a single point of data collection alone or in combination with the other two options, using the cellular radio only to send SMS alert messages. Sigfox and LoRaWAN are special cases of cellular communications: LPWAN (Low Power, Wide Area Network). They are indicated for many applications (Smart Cities, Smart Parking, security, etc). Nodes send data directly to the back-end with low power consumption and cheap fees.

Variable Frequency Drive: AC compressor AirCons are the most widely used cooling systems globally. Unfortunately AC Aircon compressors are extremely inefficient as compared to DC AirCon Compressors. The BTH-VFD-900-A** converts the AC AirCon compressor to run on a 48VDC Power Source, such as Batteries. To reduce power the unit intelligently controls the output AC Voltages and Frequency based on the set temperature. It is available in 3U 19” rack mount housing and also in an outdoor cabinet.

Kilowatt Hour Meter: BTH-PDM-01-A** is a standard DIN panel mounted kilowatt hour meter it measures active energy with class 1.0 accuracy having auto-resetting10 digit seven segment LED counter. The unit provides LED indication for healthy phase, load reverse current. The BTH-PDM-01-A** is available in two version 3phase 4 wire / 3 wire unbalanced load and single phase and is ideal for secondary metering in industrial applications. Three indications are provided, one for each voltage phase.

Battery Management System: The BTH-BMS-500-A** is a unique battery management system tailored for telecommunications BTS sites where multiple Battery Banks of different chemistries are installed. The BTH-BMS-500-A** manages both charge and discharge of the battery banks according to each battery type. When charging, the BTH-BMS-500-A** regulates battery voltage and controls the current based on the configured battery type. Each bank is independently monitored and controlled in both charging and discharging. Battery charge and discharge curves are fed into the system for each battery type. These battery curves are followed by the system over both the charge and discharge cycles.

Solar Charge Controller: The BTH-TSCC-300-A** Charge Controller incorporates a dynamic Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm called KINETIXMPPT designed to maximize energy harvest from the PV array. The KINETIXMPPT
constantly adjusts the operating power points of the array to ensure it stays on the maximum power point. It does not stop energy harvest to sweep the array like some other competing products. This feature is beneficial in all sunlight conditions, especially in areas with fast moving cloud cover and quickly changing solar conditions.
