Seating area with dedication:
Site of Penal Era Church where mass was celebrated by people and priests of Killavaney 1706-1843 AD, the year when the present church of St. Kevin was built. This Penal Church was
burned on November 11th 1798 by Yeoman soldiers but was later rebuilt. It was cruciform in style, with two transepts and a nave.

1. Erected by William Byrne in memory of his son James Byrne who departed this life on April 2nd 1810 aged 2(1?) years. Lord have mercy on his soul Amen. Also the body of the above named William Byrne departed this life 25th February 1813 aged 67 years.
2.Erected in memory of John Doyle who departed this life 3rd November 1809 aged 17 years - Lord have mercy on his soul. Amen.

4.Erected by Andrew Toole in memory of his father Darby Toole who departed this life September 12th 1816 in the 84th year of his age. Also his mother Mary? Toole departed this life ……. ….. 27th 1812 in the 87th (possibly 82nd?) year of her age.
5.Erected by Michael Cullen, Mucklagh in loving memory of his dear father William Cullen who died 28th? ………… 1899 aged 78 years. Also his sister Elizabeth who died 6th April 1898 aged 28 years, his sister Roseanne? died……………………….Also his mother Mary Cullen died ……………………..(my photo not good enough to transcribe more detail possible on site)
6.Erected by John Brennan, Killnahut? in memory of his beloved father Patrick Brennan who departed this life December - 1857 aged ?56 years. Also his mother Hannah Brennan who died ?26th November 1888 aged ?70 years.
7.Erected by Catherine Bolger, Rosbawn in memory of her husband James Bolger who departed this life October 14th 1870 or 1810? aged —- (off side of my picture). Also her daughter Ellenor departed April 27th 1856 aged 4(6 or 0 or 9?) years.
8.Erected by James Kavanagh, Killk - - - - - - in loving memory of his son Moses Kavanagh died Sept 23rd 1923 (or 1823) ……….. (his mother?) ………. ?A- - - - (Anna?) Kavanagh ……. 5th? - - 51?

19. Large slab grave - other large grave stones nearby to south I could not get to, as needed to cut back very thick thorn bush growth and had no time. Still more to east of here. Erected by Edward Byrne of Muskeagh in memory of his beloved father Edward Byrne who died 20th March 1847 aged 74 years. Also his mother Sarah Byrne who died 20th? January ?1857? aged ?80? years. And of his brother Henry Byrne who died 23rd February 18(0 or 6?) aged — years
20. Erected by Michael Toole in memory of his father Luke Toole who departed this life April 10th 1834 aged 78 years. Also his daughter Catherine departed this life June? 4th, 1848 aged 4 years.

Michael Kehoe who departed this life March 26th? - - - - aged ?4?3 years. Also his wife Catherine Kehoe who departed this life June 26th 1-— aged —3 years. Also his son Laurence Kehoe who died May 21st 1875 aged 74 years. Also Anne Kehoe beloved wife of the above Laurence Kehoe who died 19th February 1885 aged 84 years.
