The long wait for the all-new Alfa Romeo Giulia is over! The fi rst cars arrived at T H WHITE’s Fiat Group Brand Centre at Hillmead, Swindon, in late November and are now ready for you to see and drive. The new Alfa Romeo Giulia is a sensationally beautiful sporting saloon that seems certain to revolutionise this highly competitive sector, representing a convergence of engineering and emotion that has always characterised this famous, 106-year-old marque. Four model variants are being imported to the UK with the range-topping Giulia Quadrifoglio (four-leaf clover) being the most powerful road-going saloon ever made by Alfa Romeo. This 510hp missile is capable of reaching 62mph in 3.9 seconds from a standing start, continuing to a maximum of 191mph. But the driving

experience isn’t just about power – it’s a brilliant mix of technology and innovation. Its ideal 50:50 weight distribution creates optimal balance and showcases the advantage of a rear–wheel–drive system in a front-engined vehicle. By pairing rear–wheel drive with the Quadrifoglio’s front–mounted, all–aluminium 2.9-litre V6 bi-turbo engine, the Alfa Romeo engineering team was able to distribute weight perfectly throughout the chassis. Fast it is, but it’s also beautifully poised, sure-footed and enormous fun to drive. Economy has been considered too – when you are driving in town one

2016 has seen the successful completion of numerous T H WHITE  Farm and Estate and Commercial Projects across the country with several key installations north of the border in Scotland as previously reported in White’s World.  A focused and targeted approach has been maintained throughout T H WHITE Projects has worked closely with customers to develop productive relationships in the design and construction of their new operating facilities, resulting in some outstanding installations .    The Division’s capabilities have recently been further enhanced, following a move to new o� ces within T H WHITE’s expanded Nursteed Road, Devizes site, which is also home to a manufacturing facility which can produce both mild steel and stainless steel fabrications.

  New customers have commissioned some very interesting projects which call upon the extensive capabilities and engineering skills of T H WHITE Projects, resulting in some innovative ‘design and build’ solutions.    Both the Farm & Estates  and Commercial teams are currently busy working on new schemes and proposals for numerous sites, while many existing T H WHITE customers are making use of the service and support packages o� ered by our service team for the maintenance of grain handling, drying and storage plant.   Plenty of interesting and challenging projects are in the pipeline for 2017, many simply awaiting the green light from either planning authorities or investors.  To refl ect the growth of our business and to provide enhanced customer support, a new and informative

T H WHITE Projects website is due to launch in Q1 2017 containing a lot of useful material as well as illustrating the capabilities and services of the Division.       T H WHITE Projects will be attending the LAMMA event in Peterborough during January and also Cereals In June, which is to be held in Lincolnshire and promises to be a lot warmer than the earlier winter event!  So there is every prospect of a busy and promising year ahead with much to look forward to in the Projects Division. Logic has released the PDS150D salt spreader that can be mounted to the rear bed of the 2016 Kawasaki Mule and other UTVs. Powered by a 3.5hp engine, the PDS150D has a spread width of 3-14m, it features in cab controls and can spread rock salt even when wet. Spider slope mowers are perfect for a wide range of applications involving steep, uneven or sometimes dangerous terrain. The machines are ideal for canal paths, airfi elds, reservoirs, landfi ll sites, motorways and railway embankments, brush clearance, cemeteries, golf courses, national heritage sites and more. Operators can maintain a safe distance from any dangers and these lightweight machines are able to operate on inclines of up to 40 degrees. It’s easy to forget that institutions such as universities often have extensive groundcare responsibilities. When University of Bristol head gardener James Fiddock needed to replace some life-expired compact tractors, he turned to T H WHITE. “The university was looking for some tough, versatile and reliable machines that could cope with a wider range of tasks than the old tractors,” said T H WHITE Groundcare representative Stuart Fry. “We have dealt with the University of Bristol for many years and we were very pleased to advise on the new equipment.” Stuart recommended the ultra-reliable Kawasaki Mule 610 with selectable two or four-wheel-drive, continuously variable transmission and a powerful 4-stroke air-cooled engine. The university took delivery of three Kawasaki 610s in July, just in time for the busiest work of the summer season. Since then they have proved their versatility as pick-ups, transporters and haulage vehicles on varying terrain of the university’s di� erent sites.

Many of our customers have long wished for an easy and quick way to view the diverse selection of used equipment we always have available across all our Divisions, and now we have the solution in our brand new ‘used’ website. When you visit www.thwhiteused.co.uk you will be able to view all our used agricultural equipment, or equipment from any other Division with just a click of the mouse. Much e� ort has been spent on making the site simple to navigate, either by type of equipment, manufacturer or price, meaning that you can fi nd what you are looking for very

easily. Once you see something that interests you, you can click on an item to see the item specifi cation, with a contact number for the correct sales person, details of where the item is located in case you wish to view it, and an online enquiry form to enable you to fi nd out more. Each item has a unique reference number and you can share it via email or social media. There are also featured products, fl ags for ‘new in’ and ‘reserved’, while a ‘sold’ fl ag is displayed when an item is no

longer available. We will continue to publish details of used items in White’s World, but the new website will be updated in real time to provide an accurate listing of what is available at any given time.
