What They’re Saying
“I want to send a very clear message to the men and women who are wearing – or who have worn – our country’s uniform and to their spouses: when you have finished your service to our nation, you’ve got 2,000 great American companies ready and waiting to bring you on board” – Remarks by Michelle Obama, August 22, 2012
“(This) initiative will validate that my capabilities and experience are not military-unique. It adds value and definition to my service, and provides a clearer path for my transition to employment in the civilian sector. Veterans are a ready-made workforce, we contribute to a strong economy, and I ask you to invest in our futures with the same enthusiasm by which we’ve secured the future of this great nation.” – White House speech by SMSgt Alec Hall, April 29, 2013
“41% of Fortune 500 companies say they need leadership, teamwork, critical thinking, problem solving, ability to build relationships, communicate effectively and show up on time, ready to work.” – Briefing remarks by Cisco VP Mike Veysey, July 16, 2013
