There is still plenty of summer type weather ahead and the resort still has a few more events, but my oh-my how time does fly! There were several incidents at the bath houses that forced us to close them temporarily, so Doug and Joe could repair the broken items. Among the broken parts were shower valves, lavatory doors and shower curtains that needed to be replaced. Not too bad considering the diversity of our parks visitors. There was some concern about the quality of the water at the pool, but the pool company has changed the sand in the pool filter and the water is once again wonderful, I am told. A new HVAC unit is being installed in the maintenance building and a half bath is also in the works. I think a restroom is important to all of us from time to time. Meanwhile, Mark Avon Corporation will be shoring up the office building the third week in Sept. Also of note Tracy Adkins from Advanced security has been out to give us a bid for a wireless security system. This would replace the current system being used at the gates and marina. On a lighter note Kathy Helmick of Avery Insurance has assured us that we are covered for volunteer workers at the clubhouse and in the park in general. Among all the other things they do Doug and Joe have installed a ladder on the far side of the pier as a safety precaution for those unfortunate enough to have fallen in to the water at the marina. On a very serious note the pump at Black Duck station has had to be pulled and cleared twice in the last three weeks. Both times there was debris that has been identified as tampons and handi or baby wipes. These articles must not be put into our system. The cost of pumping out the well and clearing the pump is about 600 dollars and yours truly really gets stressed out when this stuff happens. I am begging you ALL TO PLEASE NOT FLUSH YOUR TAMPONS OR BABY WIPES DOWN THE TOILET. There was a bike theft that had a happy ending with the bikes being found in Ocean Pines in good shape. Unfortunately the culprits are still at large. The work truck has had a new transmission installed and after some minor tweaking is working fine. I am hoping to get many more years of service from our wonderful Ford Trucks. Well that was fast, speaking of the past three months of course. There is still plenty of summer type weather ahead and the resort still has a few more events, but my oh-my how time does fly! 2015 BOD General Meetings Saturday’s at 10am – Clubhouse

September 19 October 17

November / December– no meeting

ECC COMMITTEE REMINDERS:

Weeds are the sole responsibility of the homeowner. They need to be taken care of ALL year round so they don’t grow back! If you can't take care of the weeds on your property, you may want to hire a lawn service, or ask a neighbor to spray weed killer for you. This is an ongoing problem in the park. You can't expect to take care of the issue just once and expect it to last all summer and not expect regrowth. If you do not have a survey of your property on file at the office, please send a copy. If you don't have a survey at all, it would be a good idea to have one done. My committee and I have no idea where your property line is and we will not GUESS where it is. This is your responsibility. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ HOUSEKEEPING:
Please remember to pick up after yourselves in the laundry rooms and bathhouses. They
are cleaned and disinfected daily ! Please put your trash INSIDE the trash cans
and leave the bathhouse in good condition for the next person. Be neighborly!
Please do not leave children unattended in any of these areas.
We appreciate your cooperation.
SOMEONE
Well here we are staring Labor Day in the face and watching fall creeping up on us quietly. The Park will start to move into a quieter season with many members shutting down their units not to return until spring. September and October can be delightful here at the beach, less traffic, less wait at restaurants and great weather. The Board voted at the last meeting not to have the pool open beyond Labor Day weekend based on the amount of use which has dropped off even since schools have gotten back in session. Members seemed to enjoy having the pool open for extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays this season and so we will incorporate that in our contract for next year. We will be continuing with some ongoing projects for instance raising the corner of the office and giving it a facelift. We will continue with clearing the boatyard to prepare for fencing. We will also address some plumbing issues in the bathhouses and confirm a contract to replace the roofs on them. We are considering a proposal on a camera system for the Park that will be monitored from the office and the guardhouse. We experienced a couple of unplanned repairs this past season, the repair of the sewer pumps and replacing the transmission on the white truck. These repairs have been taken care of with a minor adjustment to the budget. We will need some committee members for next year. I hope if you are able and interested that you would let the Board know what committee you would be interested in serving on and we will be glad to accommodate you. Any of the existing committees can use some new members. Help if you can it will be greatly appreciated by all the members. I wanted to take this opportunity to remind members that if you witness incidents that are against the rules and regulations of the Park or offenses to be handled by the law, PLEASE CALL THE GUARD AND REPORT THEM OR CALL THE POLICE. Most of the time we are notified well after an incident has occurred and there is nothing that we can do about it. It is the responsibility of all members of the community to help protect the security and order of the Park. The guards are there to assist you in handling problems but you have to notify them. I will not be present at the September 19th meeting. Dan and I will be away to celebrate our 48th anniversary. The meeting will be handled by the very capable members of the Board. I will look forward to seeing you for the last meeting of the year on October 17th. You can reach me from the website by email or send a message through the office. Thanks, Pat Heath
MARINA UPDATE
The Marina committee is in the process of re-aligning the parking spaces in Section A of the boat yard. All parking spaces will be made 11 feet wide. The spaces will be separated by landscaping ties. We will be contacting owners for permission to move their boats so we can install the ties. The next section to be done will be Section D.
Thanks, Ed Webb
