Upon completion of this instructional sequence, the learner, using his Internet-

enabled office computer, should successfully be able to:

• Log into the LCC network

• Log into Blackboard

• Personalize his/her Staff Information within their Blackboard course area

What’s in a Name?

Using your TUID to log into the LCC Network

Logging into the LCC Network is a vital to gain access to:

• Network drives

• Printers & other shared resources

• Course materials

Turn on your campus computer!

• You will see the red Novell log-in screen

• Use your TUID to log in

What’s your Technology User ID?

• TUID – 7 characters long– Last name plus 1st initial of first name

• Don’t know your TUID?– Call Help Desk at 483-5221

• Your TUID goes in the textbox labeled “User Name”.

• Your password goes into the textbox labeled “Password”.

Look at this example.

• Your name is Ron Lawson.

• This is what your Novell log-in screen would look like after you have typed in your TUID and password.

• Click “OK” (in the log-in screen)

Logging into Blackboard allows you to gain access to your web-based

course materials

Gaining access to your Blackboard space is vital to

• Locate and familiarize yourself with the web-based course materials

Gentlemen…launch your browser!

• Double-click the browser icon found on the Desktop

• Or… go through the Start menu, choosing Programs, then your preferred browser

The browser will launch and display the LCC homepage.

Select the link “Blackboard Login”

(found on the right side of screen)

You will be taken to the Blackboard Announcement page. You must click the link

“Continue to the Blackboard Login page”

Next, you will see a dialog box requesting your Technology User ID and Password.

This is the same TUID and Password used to log into the network.

Remember, you can call the Help Desk at 483-1552 if you have problems

Personalize your Staff Information within your Blackboard course area

Personalizing your Staff Information in your Blackboard

space is vital to

• Allow students to contact when they have questions about the course

Once successfully logged into Blackboard, select the name of the course you are teaching

from the “My Courses” list.

You will arrive at your Blackboard

course area.

• Select “Control Panel”– Left side of the screen

Select “Staff Information” from the Content Area in the Control Panel

Fill in the Profile form that appears next with your correct contact information

• At a minimum you will want to include:– Your name

– Your office location

– Your office phone

– Your office hours

– Your email address

Press “Submit” at the bottom of the form to upload your contact information

To personalize your “Staff Information” in Blackboard, you select the Staff Information link on the left side of your screen.

need to contact you about the course.

• They can see this information by the selecting the “Staff Information” link
