Career AdvisementFor students undecided about their major or career focus, program staff can assist by assessing skills, interests and values to help students get on the right track. Program staff can also assist with referrals and online career resources.

Financial Aid AdvisementA limited number of supplemental grant aid awards are available through TRIO, based on funding availability and other program criteria. Additionally, staff will assist students every step of the way in locating the financial resources to pay for their education. Assistance includes:

• Financial literacy resources• Computer lab access/assistance with

FAFSA application• Guidance through the financial aid

appeals process• Support with the EFSC Foundation scholarship

directory and application process

Who is Eligible?TRIO participants must meet the following criteria:

• Be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident• Have earned a high school diploma or GED• Be admitted and currently enrolled at EFSC• Meet certain income requirements• Be in an Associate’s Degree Program• Demonstrate a strong academic need• Attend a mandatory TRiO Orientation.

About TRIOTRIO is a federally funded program that serves first-generation college students (those whose biological or adoptive parents did not complete a Bachelor’s Degree) and those considered economically disadvantaged. The program is designed to provide the caring support system these students need to help them stay in college, earn their degree or certificate and achieve career success.

Services AvailableAcademic AdvisementAfter acceptance into the program, advisors help students from the moment they step on campus until graduation. Advisement includes guidance in the creation of personal education plans, schedule planning, course registration assistance and much more.

TutoringMath Learning Specialists will help students gain the confidence they need to be successful with their studies. They are available to assist with math courses, and study assistance for mid-terms and finals.
