Where do the accents go?

We only need accents on ATTACHED VERBS!

We only attach objects to…

1. INFINITIVES! (ar, er, ir)

2. GERRUNDS! (ando, iendo, yendo)

Are you ready to learn where to put them?

Accents on the infinitive…

• Always put the accent on the ending of the infinitive (ár, ér, ír)– Example: decírmelo (tell me it)– Example: jugárnosla (play it with us)– Example: comérselas (eat them with us)

Accents on the gerrund…

• Always put the accent on the gerrund ending (ándo, iéndo, yéndo)– Example: hablándonoslo (telling us it)– Example: escribiéndonoslas (writing us them)– Example: trayéndosela (bringing them it)

3. Estoy enseñandolesme

4. Estamos escribiendosela

Putting on accents is hard!

Just remember, they go either:

–Attached to INFINITIVE (ar, er, ir)

–Attached to GERRUND (ando, iendo, yendo)
