PARTS LIST AND INSTRUCTIONS GRASS CATCHER FACTORY ORDER NUMBER 8·6650 DESCRIPTION The 8-6650 grass catcher is used on the A-800 tractors. &CAUTION& Do not remove or install grass catcher wilh engine running. Do not operate tractor without either the entire grass catcher or the chute ex- . tension installed. Under normal usage the bag material is subject to deterioration and wear and should be examined to insure compliance with original manufacturer's specifications for durability and safety. Use of the grass catcher is not recommended when cutting grass shorter than 2 inches. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 1. Remove the chute extension from the mower deck. 2. Using the %-16 x 1 pan head bolt, %-16 elastic stop nut, and two % washers, remove the plas. tic plug and mount the spring on the mower deck as shown in figure 1. Insert the mounting bolt from beneath the deck. FIG. 1. Mounted Spring 3. Assemble the upper tube, lower tube, connect- ing link, and mounting bracket using the x 1 bolt, K6·18 nut, and two hairpin cotters as shown in figure 2 and the exploded view drawing. 4. Install the mounting bracket underneath the rear fender. Remove the bolts from the two holes as shown in figure 3. Align the holes of the mounting bracket with the holes on the tractor frame and bolt it on, using the longer bolts pro- vided. See figure 3. FIG. 2. Assembled Tubes FIG. 3. The 8-6650 grass catcher is used on the A-800 tractors.

Use of the grass catcher is not recommended when cutting grass shorter than 2 inches.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Remove the chute extension from the mower deck.

2. Using the %-16 x 1 pan head bolt, %-16 elastic stop nut, and two % washers, remove the plas. tic plug and mount the spring on the mower deck as shown in figure 1. Insert the mounting bolt from beneath the deck.

3. Assemble the upper tube, lower tube, connect­ing link, and mounting bracket using the ~6-18

x 1 ~ bolt, K6·18 nut, and two hairpin cotters as shown in figure 2 and the exploded view drawing.

4. Install the mounting bracket underneath the rear fender. Remove the bolts from the two holes as shown in figure 3. Align the holes of the mounting bracket with the holes on the tractor frame and bolt it on, using the longer bolts pro­vided. See figure 3.

5. Slide the two hooks through the loops on the grass bag. See figure 4.

6. To adjust the frame (3) and the plate (8) to the mower discharge opening, loosen bolts and, holding the ports together, slip the bottom plate under the rod at the mower discharge opening while holding the frame flat against the chute opening. Now tighten the nuts and bolts. There may be a space between the top of the mower deck and the frome, but this will not affect the operation of the grass bag.

7. Put the bog opening over the frame so that the top corner seams line up with the top corners of the frame. Put the wire hoop over the bag on the frame and secure it with the l;i-20 x 2 bolt and nut.

BAG INSTALLATION

To install the bag on the mower proceed as follows :

1. Slide the bog hooks over the tube and against the hook stops as shown in figure 4.

2. Hook the plate at the bag opening under the rod at the mower discharge opening. Tilt it up until the bag opening frame rests on top of the mower deck.

3. Hook the spring on the mower deck to the frame handle.

NOTE: To adjust bag height to keep it from drag­ging, raise the support tubes using the ad­justing bolt shown in figure 5. Loosen lock­nut and raise to desired height. Tighten lock­nut.

1. Unhook spring from bag opening frame handle.

2. Tilt the bag opening frame back and unhook the plate from the mower rod.

3. Slide the bag off the tube.

NOTE: With the bag opening frame removed from the mower discharge chute the tube section wili fold up to allow the tractor to pass through gate openings or doorways.
