The Way Things Used to Be
In the past people ate things like:
Scrambled eggs and baconBaked ham and mashed potatoesGreen bean casserole and dinner rolls with butter
And they had dessert too!
They “cleaned” their plate and then they were done.
Most people who grew up before the 60’s have already been on a diet.
It was called: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner!
• Your Description Goes HereBIGGER is Better-Right?
Things have certainly changed since the 60’s! Over the past 30-40 years everything in America has gotten BIGGER!!
• Cars grew to station wagons… then vans…now two-ton SUV’s
• Homes have grown to MCMANSIONS
• Televisions have gone from 27 inches to whatever it takes to fill the wall.
Things just keep growing in America!

Bigger is just
BIGGEROur plates have become platters! No wonder America is overweight!
The American plate has grown from 9 inches to 12 inches and it is still growing.
The bigger the plate the more it takes to fill it.
After all, who wants a half empty plate!

Matters By now you are probably thinking this is nuts.
Who cares what size the plate is? I don’t have to eat it all!
A plate is a plate is a plate……
It turns out that most people DO eat it all!
Saying “NO” to food is a very hard thing to do!

BIGGER Plates Mean More Calories
The larger the plate, the more calories consumed.
More calories consumed means more weight gained!
Americans have been taught to clean their plates!
The problem is you don’t even know you are eatingmore because you are simply “CLEANING” your plate.
It’s a Mind Game
• Use a SMALLER plate
• Fill it up (within reason)
• Eat everything on your plate
• “Clean” only one plate
• Lose a pound or two
• Without even trying!
If you have a large plate with very little on it, your mind says, “I need more food”.
If you have a small plate but it is full, your mind says “That’s Plenty”.
I Get It!Size does matter!
