10 Everyday Make up tips.

4 AUGUST 2015 | WHAT’S ON FRONTIER COUNTRY

1. Heat things up a bit ... While you start by putting your foundation on, tuck your mascara tube in your bra for a few minutes. Warming up the mascara will soften the formula and make it go on much more smoothly. Or, hold the bottle between your palms and roll it a few times… it also warms it a little for a much smoother ap-plication. For a less clumpy and smoother ap-plication for your mascara, NEVER pump your brush up and down. That does nothing except pump air in and out of the bottle, which does not only make your mascara lumpy but also dries it out quicker.2. Va Va Voom ...Wiggle your mascara brush in little left-right motions as you apply. It reduces clumps, separates your lashes, and gives a more even application.3. Oh the brows...Do NOT over-pluck your eyebrows. Brows make a huge difference for everything as it frames your face, so make sure that they’re kept and look groomed, there is only one person who can pull off the pencil-thin look, and that is Betty Boop.4. Brighten them eyes ...Use white eyeliner on your lower lash waterline, and then also white liner with a tad of shimmer on the inner corners of your eyes. This will make you look so alive and bright. This is my most complimented makeup look and it LITERALLY takes two minutes to do.5. Aw Natural...Olive oil is a great DIY eye makeup remover. Unlike other oily removers, olive oil is actually good for your skin!

6. Lipstick free pearly whites...After applying lipstick, put your finger in your mouth, close your lips around your finger, and pull it out. This gets rid of excess lipstick and stops it from going on your teeth.7. Perfect pout...Put highlighter (a lighter lipstick, or I use my white eye pencil) on your cupid’s bow and in the center of your bottom lip. It gives more lip definition and makes them look fuller.8. Bold and BEAutiful... If you’re wearing bold looks or colors, make sure you’re only going bold on one area of your face. Feeling like bright red lips? Awe-some! But make sure to do a subtle eye look. Want to go with bright blue eyeliner? Great! But try a nude lip. This will help you look less like a clown, and more like the sophisticated woman that you are.9. The perfect spot...Put your makeup on in front of a close-up mirror with natural light. This way, you can see what it really looks like.10. And the most important...Learn your face, accept it, and learn to love what you have. For example, I often wish I had the face shape to carry off proper contouring (maybe one day when I work my shadow and highlight areas better but it isn’t going to change my face to the high cheekboned face of my dreams!), but my face is rounder. Instead I prefer blusher, and own a ton of shades to prove it! I’m never going to have a killer jaw line but I will have cute cheeks and perfect brows instead! Feel free to break the rules and experiment!

Coal roasted Vegetables

When cooking green vegetables such as green beans, asparagus or broccoli, first plunge them into a pot of rapidly boiling water. Allow them to boil for between 3-5 minutes then remove them from the water and plunge them immediately into ice water. This stops the cooking process and ensures they keep their vibrant green colour and crunchy, crisp texture.IngredientsTin Foil for roasting30 ml Olive Oil600 g Mixed Roasting Vegetables45 ml Lemon Juice

5 ml Thyme5 ml SageAtlantic Sea SaltBlack PepperInstructionsBrush the tin foil with some olive oil and toss all the vegetables in the remaining oil together with the lemon juice, Thyme and Sage.Season with Atlantic Sea Salt and Black Pepper.Place the vegetables into the foil to make one large parcel and fold the edges in twice so as not to allow any steam to escape.Cook over coals for about 40 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.
