What are the rules?
• No Pepsi versus Coke type of ad: Brands cannot serve ads to customers checking in competitor locations.
• No one-on-one targeting of consumers, but based on shared characteristics of groups of people.
• Motivation behind these kinds of ads is to use the big data available on check in behavior to develop ads with context.
• Also, FSQ wants to use the check in data to segment consumers into interest groups.
