A New Leaf: “Nursing Teams at CRMC” MED BY MarY WrIght
ForaslongasIcanremember, I’ve al-ways wanted to bea nurse. My veryfirst experience ina hospital settingbegan when I vol-unteeredinmyteen-ageyearsatWilsonHospital inJohnsonCity. From there Iwent on to collegeand continued as

Upon receiving my nurs-ingdegree,IwashonoredwiththeFlorenceNightingale award for clinical excellencewhichstillmeanstheworldtome. While that was certainly a defining momentfor me as an aspiring caregiver, little did Iknow that therewouldbemanymoredefin-ing moments ahead of me. The ‘work’ in life, as in painting, is about the experience of the immediate mo-ment, whether it’s painting or having a conversation. Trusting that it’s all in there—memories, loss, love, hope—learn-ing and discovering from each experi-ence what more painting can be, who you are and where to go next.
Born in New York 57 years ago, my earliestmemoriesareofmeat2yearsofagepullingout all the detergents from under the kitchensink and making sculptured pies on the liv-ingroomfloor,andofmeat4yearsstandingaloneinalongemptydrivewaywatchingcatswalkinandoutofthebackyardinapaletteofgreens,grays,warmblack,andaveryintenseDutchyellowlight.

Bianchi Bulletin – Everything QuickBooksBIZ BY SHELLY WHITE
QuickBooks Online – “Get more done through-out your day with the next generation QuickBooks.”
In the business world we are al-ways looking for the next best thing,
right? At the same time, we resist change and fear the unknown. Fortunately, every generation includes those who are willing to take the risk, providing us with new oppor-tunities. With QuickBooks, it is no different.
QuickBooks changed the way we were able to manage the financial end of our businesses 25 years ago. It allowed us to put down our pencils, close up our ledgers, and automate our processes. Ten years later, QuickBooks Online (QBO) was re-leased. We now had mobile access to our accounting data, but with many limitations. Anytime, anywhere access with many of the QuickBooks desktop luxuries arrived last September when Intuit completely re-designed QBO and released its newest Harmony version.
For the end user – modern dashboards, custom fields and invoice templates, inven-tory control, multi-level report classification, light job costing, multiple budgets and sales tax rates, billable expenses, and delayed charges. Also, automated and scheduled processes, limited user access and audit trails, online banking, 1099 preparation, and customizable terminology.
Available from a mobile phone or tablet - access to customer information and bal-ances, sending invoices and estimates on the spot, adding photos and notes, and gathering electronic signatures.
For the accountant – access to client’s data without having to get a backup from them, working in multiple windows and compa-nies at the same time, collaborating with clients from within the software, creating multiple A/R and A/P entries on the same journal entry, reclassifying transactions, and writing off invoices.
In addition, new features are being added regularly and the number of third-party so-lutions that extend the capabilities of QBO
are increasing by the day. There are also several versions of QBO to choose from, and you only pay for the features you want/need with affordable subscription pricing and no contracts.
QBO offers connected services as well. Accept payments from customers on the go, and process payroll with three options to choose from; Do It For You, Do It With You, or Do It Yourself.
Is the “next best thing” in your business world freedom in the cloud? If it is, then maybe QBO is the solution for you. Con-tact us today and let us help you decide!
Shelly WhiteSr. ConsultantBianchi Consultantswww.BianchiConsultants.comShelly has helped hundreds of businesses automate their operations through the use of QuickBooks. Her mission is to provide business owners with the tools they need to manage their finances accurately and efficiently. Shelly is certified in all versions of QuickBooks and as an Intuit Premier Reseller of QuickBooks products and services, she has ac-cess to great discounts for her clients. Spotlight on Art: Thoughts and QuestionsART BY rOBerta DIXON
Fine art or not art?Is that a real ques-tion? I recentlypurchased a newcomforterset,whichincludedeverythingyou could everimagine putting onor around a bed:comforter, pillowshams,Euroshams,bedskirt,andthrow
pillows. I chose a set that incorporated au-tumn colors: rust, beige, and brown. In thatmy old comforter was rust and beige, I as-sumed that all of the art currently hangingin my bedroom would fit in seamlessly withthenewset.Yet,afterarrangingeverything,I realized that the art on my walls definitelyappeared“off.”Itwasn’tacolorissue;itwastheoverallfeel
of the flow that felt disjointed. Introducinga more repetitive pattern ended up clash-ing with everything around it. I started toenvision new paintings that would betterbalance the room, and then I wondered...ifIpaintinordertomatchthedecor(orfur-niture,orcurtains...oranythingelse for thatmatter),isitstillart?Orisit interiordesign?And,aretheymutuallyexclusive?Isonebet-terthantheotherorinanywaymore“real”thantheother?
Thatledmetothinkingaboutthepurposeofart.Ifyouownagallery, thepurposeisverynear and dear to your livelihood. If you’rean interior decorator, the purpose is tocomplementtheoverallroomaestheticandcontribute to harmonious space. If you’rean artist, the purpose could be to releaseenergythatwouldotherwisestaybottledupuntil(inslightlyscientificterms),thelackofanoutletleadstoachemicalreactionresulting

Ipose thesequestionsnotbecause there isany definitive answer. Like so many otherthings in life, it’s all a matter of interpreta-tion.I’vealwaysbelievedthatmathematicsis the only thing that leads to one answer.Everythingelsefallsintodifferentshadesofgrey, depending on perspective and otherpersonalfactors.
