Hackers will hack your HVAC

Simply put: if your vendors, customers, or partners have

too much access to your critical data, they will become an

attack vector. Target discovered this to their chagrin, and

they will have plenty of company in 2015.

Heartbleed is still bleeding

Vulnerabilities in open source code continue to propagate. These issues

remain unpatched in a troubling multitude of networks, and in 2015, these

bugs will really start to bite.

One last big run on credit cards

2015 will herald the US implementation of the EMV “chip and pin” credit card

system. This is technically great news, as this system is expected to

dramatically clamp down on credit card fraud. With fraudsters experiencing

their last hurrah, expect card crime to spike.

Your security tools will work in the cloud

Cloud security providers are beginning to feel your pain. In 2015,

Amazon and other providers will provide toolsets allowing identity

management, encryption tools, content filtering and policy

monitoring, among others.

Malware is tricky – change a single line of code, and it can avoid signature-based

detection. Threat Intelligence vendors intend to change all that, with an expanding

number of third parties who can integrate threat data directly into your system.
