What's Going On with Misfit Studios

March was another strong sales month for us, especially with Better Mousetrap 3e continuing to dominate digital markets for Mutants & Masterminds. Speaking of which, the conversion of Metahuman Martial Arts 3e is still speed-ing along and will hopefully wrap up this month. We didn’t release any big projects this month, but had a bunch of handy, small releases that went over well and we hope to follow up on with more of the same.

Other projects that continue to move along strongly in-clude Adequate Commoner, which is about to wrap up ed-iting and go into layout. The cover art has been done for months, and half the interior art is now in and in the colour-ing process. We hope to have this out by the end of April or beginning of May.

W Fraser Sandercombe Presents: The Dream

The Dream portrayed in this stock art image by W Fraser Sandercombe, a full page inked illustration, depicts a sleeping woman dreaming of herself reclining in a pasture as a rearing unicorn looks on.

Supernatural Supers & Metahuman Mystics: Houngan Archetype

This release for Supernatural Supers & Metahuman Mystics provides you with a new archetype, the Houngan. A Houngan is a priest of the Voodoo religion. They may call upon the spirits (loas) and magic of the world around them directly, via ritual, or through the jujus (charms and fetishes) they create to help their people. But there is evil out in the world that they must also fight – supernatural forces of darkness and even their own kind who have turned their Voodoo powers towards evil: the Bokor.

Includes the a base Houngan archetype template so you can more easily and quickly make Voodoo practitioner characters of your own, as well as guidelines on their origins, appearance and personality, powers and abilities (including example spells and charms and fetishes), sample loas, how they may be improved, and a num-ber of variations on the basic theme. Rounding out the product is a sample Houngan character, Papa Crane.

Double Team: Graveside VS Purgatory provides two characters for your Super-Powered by Mutants & Masterminds games: the haunting mobster, Graveside, and a hero, God’s own bounty hunter, Purgagory.

Graveside was killed by other mobsters in a location that led to him returning as a spirit. Not just able to float about ethereally, Graveside can possess corpses (and even the undead), granting them greater strength while doing so. This is not with-out a cost, however, as the process speeds along the host body’s decomposition. This spirit is now driven to find a body that can house him without falling apart, and he will go to any lengths to find it.

Purgatory was destined for great and good things, but Evil interceded and drove his future off course. After a life of foul deeds, the man who would become Purga-tory found himself in Hell before being freed by a host of angels. The cost of his freedom and redeeming his soul and destiny? Serving as Heaven’s agent by hunt-ing down souls that have escaped Hell and returning them from whence they came.

Starbound is a former astronaut who was subject to a failed experiment for the purpose of space exploration. When his own DNA was spliced with that of an unknown alien species, he was transformed into a rampaging monster!
