Golf and ski resort A multi-million dollar winter

sports area that will also serve as a year-round recreational, residen-tial and commercial complex will be constructed at Carson Pass, south of Lake Tahoe. The new project will be called the C a r s o n Pass ski area and is scheduled to open by winter of 1972-73. Lease-sale of residential lots will begin this summer and will be available on a 99-year basis, including pro-vision for underground utilities. When completed, the area will include a total of 10 ski lifts, an aerial tramway, a condominium complex, an 18-hole golf course, clubhouse, swimming pool, ten-nis courts and riding stables, plus the residential areas.

Resort complex planned for Wailea Beach

A 1,500-acre, $850-million re-sort and community development is planned at Wailea Beach, Maui, Hawaii, and will provide 11,000 hotel units and 8,000 apartment units. First phase is the construction of 3,000 hotel units and a golf course. Date for completing the project is 1985.

patio. The Public Rooms have been remodeled, refurnished and carpeted by William Ballard, Inc., a New York-based decorating company. All the guest bedrooms now have air conditioning and have been upgraded and refur-nished. Equipment and facilities have been overhauled and a P.A. system installed. A new night club, called the Cafe, completes the renovation program. The reno-vation plans were prompted to at-tract conventions, meetings and trade expositions.

Clay re-elected to head Golf ball manufacturers

Vaughn H. Clay, vice presi-dent and general manager of the Sports Div., Dunlop Tire and Rubber Corp. was re-elected for a fourth term as president of the Golf Ball Manufacturers Assn. Mr. Clay was also re-elected for his fifth term as a director of the National Golf Foundation.

Flexi-Grip Div. opens plant The Flexi-Grip Div. of Eaton

Yale & Towne opened a 36,000-square-foot plant near Laurinburg, N.C. Under the trade name Golf Pride, the plant will manufacture golf club grips and will increase total production capacity by 35 per cent, according to the com-pany. J . H. Taylor is manager.
