You will need the ‘when do we use’ cards attached to play this game. You will also need some pieces of paper to act as stepping stones. Place the stepping stones out across the floor. Explain to your child that he or she has to try to get across a river before the wolf catches them. He or she can move onto the next stepping stone each time he or she can answer a question. ‘when’ Ask your child the ‘when’ questions from the ‘when do we’ cards. If your child can give you a good answer then he or she can move onto the next stepping stone. Make sure your child answers the question and does not say a place or an action ‘when’ for the answer, e.g. adult: do you use a swimming costume?’ ‘When child: ‘At the swimming pool.’ adult: ‘That is we go swimming.
