Are you ready for a challenge? This month’s Club Meeting goal was to build the

tallest telecommunications tower with some basic

materials.

Did you succeed?

Did you get to share

your ideas with

the other members

of the team?

Did everyone get a

leadership role?

What was yours?

What did you get out

of this activity?

October celebrates Apples & Cranberries!!

Did you know that there are around 100 varieties of apples

grown commercially in the United States?

Only 15 varieties of apples make up the majority of apple

productions. Apples may help decrease the risk of heart

disease and certain cancers.

An apple has only 50-80 calories and has no sodium or fat;

this makes apples a great snack!!

Did you know that cranberries, along with blueberries and

Concord grapes, are one of North America’s three native

fruits that are commercially grown. Cranberries may help

prevent urinary tract infections.

They also contain powerful

antioxidants that may reduce the

risk of heart disease and cancer.

Available in many forms, from

fresh and dried to juices and

sauces, cranberries can be added

to many recipes. Try dry

cranberries in your salad!!
