Waiver (S.E.L.F.)
HIGHLIGHTS
• Serve as the long‐needed “middle level” waiver in Ohio’s system
• Help beYer address some crucial service needs
• Improve flexibility and crea?vity for individuals and their families
• Overall cost limit: $25,000/year for children $40,000/year for adults • 100 state‐funded waivers for
children with intensive behavioral needs (Each county board gets one waiver/ the remaining 12 waivers allocated based on county tax equity)
Ohio’s first par?cipant‐directed waiver for individuals with developmental disabili?es

Establishes:
• Community employment as the priority and preferred outcome for working‐age Ohioans with disabili?es
• Governor's Employment First Taskforce
• A requirement for school districts to begin the explora?on of integrated employment during transi?on planning (to start at age 14)

encouraged to take part in the workforce and bring their individual strengths and talents to par?cipate in Ohio business
and industry.”
