A CREATIVE CONVERSATION

Sponsored by

Every building has an architect. Architects are often described as artists.

∴ Shouldn’t we treat every building as a work of art? If so, what are the ramifications: sure, museums offer tours of their beautiful buildings, but are they part of the collection? What if the building needs to change or the collection move – what happens to the “art”  of  the  building  then?    What happens… when the art and the architecture draw new neighbors, who build but in so doing, destroy the art that attracted them? Who bears the weight of care and stewardship?

And… What is the relationship between arts programming and the walls that surround it? In what ways might a building’s exterior impact the programming inside?

Wednesday Feb. 12th 8:00 a.m. Networking (and nosh) Conversation 8:15 – 9:15 a.m. Dee Kelly Alumni Center, Cox C

COME - Join the conversation about trends and topics in the arts and in our communities.

OPEN TO: AADM Minors,

PLUS + community arts professionals!

This Creative Conversation will draw on: material published in The New York Times,
