What else people said – principles• People who move here need to realise that it is a mixed area in all senses of the word.

• Its not so much what developments are needed as how they are provided that is crucial to the successful development and improvement of the area

• We need to make sure we keep the mix of the area right - a balance between 'posh flats' and affordable housing and a balance between daytime employment and nighttime bars/restaurants etc

• I'm not against tall buildings nor even chains. What I want to see are things done well, with integrity and care

• The area seems geared towards a transient or student population (bars, student halls etc) and not serve long term residents so well (schools, community centres)

What else people said - in detail• I think there are enough large multi-occupancy residential buildings but smaller blocks should be encouraged. Small businesses should also be encouraged, but residents will not benefit from larger businesses in the area.

•One of the major things that destroys any chance of forming community is the huge volume of commuter traffic that cuts through the area, especially on Long Lane and Tower Bridge Road.

•Would like to see some effort given to Tower Bridge Road, and a nicer mix of shops there
