What the book of psalms is to devotional life , the book of
proverbs is to everyday life. A proverb is a short, wise, easy to
learn saying to impart God’s wisdom for living.
Dan 1:17 As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and
skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all
visions and dreams.
Dan 1:19 And the king communed with them; and among them all was
found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood
they before the king.
Dan 1:20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the
king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the

Pro 1:1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David,
king of Israel;
Proverbs-masha l- means to rule in the sense of mental superiority. Its
not a collection of human wisdom , but of divine rules to govern our
conduct, in civil , religious and business life.
Deu 28:13 And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail;
and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that
thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I
command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
Pro 1:2 To know wisdom (chokmah-skilful wit in

There are 6 different words translated wisdom here in Proverbs
and it will benefit you to know the difference.
•Chokmah- skilful wit in mind word or act
•Binah-discernment and discrimination
•Leb- wise hearted understanding
•Ormah-shrewdness, prudence, Subtley
•Sakal-Good sense
•Sekel- insight

God’s Correction when submitted to means a right path and new Direction

the words of understanding. (discernment)
Discernment-is the ability to judge well. Discernment is not knowing the
difference between right and
wrong. It is knowing the
difference between right and
almost right.
