The exhibition entitled De la magia y el color (Of Magic and Color) is the tribute paid by the Havana National Museum of Fine Arts to naïf painter Ruperto Jay Matamoros (Santiago de Cuba, 1912 - Havana, 2008) on the centennial of his birth. A typical performance lasts for one hour and forty minutes, and includes breath-taking high-wire acrobatics; a clown who rides an extremely small bicycle; the aforementioned pony-tailed gymnasts who, among other stunts, jump through fiery hoops; and the inevitable rumba-dancing dogs.
