Parents are needed

• Parents have an important role in the assessment process so it is important for them to understand the purpose of the assessment that is being done on their child.

• Infants and toddlers can’t understand their developmental progress so it is up to the parents and caregivers to be able to supply this information to the teachers.

Assessment

• Methods of assessments are matched with the level of mental, social, and physical development at each stage of their growth.

• Assessment is needed because the developmental change in young children can be very rapid, so there is a need to assess them to determine whether their development is progressing normally.
