Terms

Wireless Networks- are networks that maintain communication channels between computers by using radio waves and/or microwaves. Wireless networking is a contemporary alternative to wired networking. Wired Networking- is a type of networking that relies on copper and/or fiber optic cabling between network devices.

Router- A physical device that joins wired or wireless networks together.

Local area network (LAN) -supplies networking capability to a group of computers in close proximity to each other such as in an office building, a school, or a home.
