Skype for Business was announced in November of 2014 and is a partnership between Skype and Microsoft.

Skype for business merges Skype with Microsoft’s Lync program and is designed to greatly increase the efficiency of business communication.

Lync, previously called Windows Messenger, has not been particularly popular. Therefore, it can be said that it is a good development that Lync will merge with the highly popular Skype.

One of the benefits of Skype for Business is that it has a user interface that is familiar to the vast majority of the public, due to their familiarity with Skype.

Skype hopes that this will increase users’ speed with which they use Skype for Business.

Just as with Skype, even when Skype for Business is minimized, there will be a window with the video feed in it for you to see.

You can now drag and drop files easily into the chat bar to share with the person you are talking with.

Scheduling meetings is really simple and integrated into your contact list and calendar. Just select the meeting, click a few times, and you’re there.

You can easily share your screen with the person you are talking to with one simple click.
