INNOVATOR 2: NVIS TECHNOLOGIES
PRESENTED BY INDIRA INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT , PUNE
WHAT IS ROBOTICS?
• The field of computer science and engineering concerned with creating robots, devices that can move and react to sensory input. Robotics is one branch of artificial intelligence
• Robots are now widely used in factories to perform high-precision jobs such as welding and riveting. They are also used in special
situations that would be dangerous for humans -- for example, in cleaning toxic wastes or defusing bombs
INTRODUCTION TO ROBOTICS
• Robotics, in a layman's term, is a tool which eases your work providing convenience, time saving factor and overcoming complexities
• Robotics is a complex function• It is expensive and cannot be used by all the firms• It involves intrigue understanding of the
mechanism of the robotics
NVIS CONTRIBUTION
• NVIS manufactures clean technology products i.e. robotics, LED, etc.
• The main focus is on renewal sources of energy• Resources are getting scarce day by day-solution
to this problem is use of renewal energy• NVIS technology is a solution provider for such
problems• Range - 500 products
MAJOR PRODUCT LINE
• LED• Radars• Solar Heaters• Robotics
SOME INNOVATIONS
Radar for weather monitoring
Cotton Solar Heater Lantern Light can be changed
CONTD..
• Clean tech mainly have product LED bulbs from 1watt-100watt
• The output of there 3 watt led bulb = 11 watt of CFL
• High backup time(in reference to inverter)
EFFICIENT BUSINESS MODEL
• Company is using cost and current drivers and efficient electronics that gives them more efficiency
• Though cost of its product is high but it is a one time investment as led bulbs has a lifetime of 15 years (more than 50000 hrs)
• It prepares all its product for commercial and domestic as well
DIFFERENTIATED PRODUCT
• Only Company to provide Nano Coating on solar panel which improves its efficiency as the coating does not allows water or dust to settle in.
• One good example of Blue Ocean Strategy: where they created a new market

Vs. Incandescent:1.5 months
Vs. CFL: 9 months
BENEFITS OF INNOVATION
• Not fragile• 8 watt can replace 40 watt tube light• Less CO2 emission and hence eco friendly
REASONS FOR THIS INNOVATION
• Motivate: work for society• For becoming eco-friendly• Generate energy from solar panel for their
own led consumption• Reduce the energy wastage and use natural
ways to generate the energy
RECOMMENDATIONS
• Product innovation is observed, process innovation is required simultaneously
• Business Process Re-Engineering: Timely introspection of the model
• Connectivity of Social enterprise with Co-operatives
