• Eligibility based on rules of origin which are based on the classification number of the good supplied to Magna

• NAFTA Certificate of Origin required

• Duty free entry into the U.S.• No payment of merchandise processing

fee• Magna requires NAFTA certificates to

certify goods supplied to OEM customers- Preferred supplier status- Without a valid certificate from our

suppliers, we may not be able to qualify our manufactured good as a NAFTA product

• OEM requires information to certify vehicle as a NAFTA vehicle

• Fully completed & correct Certificate for each good supplied to Magna

• Certificate to be provided annually • Immediate notification if good no longer

eligible for NAFTA• Statement of origin required from non

North American suppliers• Manufacturer’s Affidavit if a U.S.

manufacturer• If uncertain, get help – customs broker,

customs consultant, trade lawyers• Big $$$ if your certificate is not accurate

• Complete description w/ part number• Reason for shipping (sale, processing) • Consignee/buyer/shipper/exporter• Total price and unit price• Quantity• Purchase order number• If returning to a Magna facility in Canada

or Mexico – both original cost and cost of processing is required

• Contact name at Magna• Indicate if a prototype or sample
