DefinitionAny of several branches of science,
such as biology, medicine, anthropology, or ecology, that deal
with living organisms and their organization, life processes, and
relationships to each other and their environment.
We will mainly focus on the branch of biology.
How does it help us?
It helps us understand how we live, how our bodies work, how to use natural resources, and how to keep ourselves healthy.
LIFE is SCIENCE itself!
BiologyThe science of life or living matter in all its forms and phenomena, especially with reference to origin, growth reproduction, structure, and behavior. What is classified as “living matter”?A. ChairB. FlowerC. TelevisionD. Surf Board
AnimalsAnimals are a big part of Biology and
we can learn a great amount from studying them. By watching how they
interact with their environment, we can learn about their impact on their
ecosystem. Here is a link to a fun website about
endangered animals.http://kidsplanet.org/factsheets/map.html
PlantsPlants are also a large portion of
Biology. Studying how plants reproduce, consume nutrients, and
produce oxygen helps us understand how they impact the ecosystems in
which they inhabit.
Biology is only one of the many different branches of Life Science.
There are still several other life sciences that are extremely important within the scientific
community, such as medicine, anthropology, and ecology.
All of these branches of science are equally important when considering life science as a
whole.
