The middle ear includes eardrum and three small bones that are attached to it:

Malleus - bone closest to the eardrum, looks like a hammer

Incus - looks like an anvil and is named the incus.

Stapes - stirrup shaped bone, links the incus tothe membrane that connects the middle ear to the inner ear.

The inner ear is made up of the semi circular canals that help us keep our balance and the cochlea that turns the sounds we hear into electrical impulses that our brain can understand.

Vibrations come from the middle ear through the connecting membrane.
