What is FRAN?FRAN = Family Literacy
• Provides free HSE - High School Equivalency and ESL classes to Lafayette Parish residents
• Provides parents with training to enable them to play an instrumental role in their child’s education
• Works corroboratively with other school board programs and local agencies.
Program GoalThe goal of Families Reading Around Neighborhoods
is to assist families in improving and integrating adult education, early childhood education, parenting,
health information, and everyday living skills into a unified family literacy program.

Who can participate?FRAN welcomes all families who have children
between the ages birth and 7 years of age. Pregnant women are also encouraged to attend.

Parent & Child Together Time (PACT) • Field Trips • Make and Take Projects • Child Directed Play

or are you expecting a child? Are you interested in a free early education
program for your child? Would you like new parenting ideas?

ESL program? Would you like to join other families who
share your educational goals?
TransportationFree transportation for full-time students.
