How to Search
CBS Newspath distributes thousands of news, sports, and entertainment clips each week. In addition to the latest news
you can search and download video from our extensive video archive.
To search - enter in the story or topic into the Search bar on the CBS tab.
Hit return or click on the magnifying glass to search. The search looks for the word in story slugs, story metadata, and
scripts. By default the system searches for stories distributed in the last 30 days.
Multiple word searches are processed as “and” operations, meaning only stories containing all listed words will be
included in results.
Search results include the inflectional form of a word meaning that both the singular and plural form of a noun will be
searched for. For example, when searching for foot, the query will also return results for feet. The inflectional form of
verbs will also be queried. For example, running, ran, and runner are various forms of the word run.
10
Words like “an”, “all”, “as”, etc.. are ignored, as search engines usually ignore common and short words.
Operator Example
nut Searches for inflectional forms of the word nut
Searches stories containing inflectional forms of the words crank and arm. The keyword AND is optional.
Searches stories containing inflectional forms of the words tire or air.
Perform a phrase search for the phrase “reflector bracket”.
Searches stories containing inflectional forms of the word hardware but not the word bracket.
Searches for the word clamp without generating inflectional forms.
