What is a FRAME?!
a basic structure that underlies or supports a system, concept, or text.
THE

![Page 2: What is a FRAME?!](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022081507/568161cd550346895dd1bb83/html5/thumbnails/2.jpg)
There are endless amounts and kinds of FRAMES, but they all do
the same thing.
What do they do???
Frames help us organize our thoughts and ideas. They help us plan out what we are going
to write before we write it. The FRAME also helps us to remember all the important details and parts in a paper.
![Page 3: What is a FRAME?!](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022081507/568161cd550346895dd1bb83/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)

you see that are similar.

Even though Daniel Keyes wrote Flowers for Algernon in 1966, its messages about growing up are timeless. One of these themes is _______________________________________________________________________________________.
Essential details Essential details Essential detailsFirst fill in the subject. What are we going to
write this paper about?
Flowers for Algernon Theme
Next, we need to add in our theme. What theme do you have the most
evidence for and feel you could explain the best?
People treat people with disabilities poorly.
![Page 18: What is a FRAME?!](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022081507/568161cd550346895dd1bb83/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
Now, we are going to work on our body paragraphs.

Textual evidence. Make sure you write it
correctly and include your citation!
Explanation of evidence and how
it supports the theme
My first piece of evidence to support the theme is from the first progress report of the book.
“Frank and Joe say they are my friends. We laff and have good times. They tell me to mop out the toilet . Sometimes when I meet them for lunch there not there” (Keyes 13).
This evidence supports the theme statement. Charlie, who is mentally disabled, assumes Joe and Frank are his friends because they laugh with him. Charlie doesn’t realize they are laughing at him. I think this still continues today. Many people will make fun of others because they are not as intelligent as they are.

In conclusion, a theme in the novel Flowers for Algernon is people treat people with disabilities poorly. I agree with the author’s message. While growing up, I saw people in my school make fun of those who struggled. I believe that humanity, regardless of the time period, still struggles to accept everyone.
Lastly, we need to fill in our conclusion. Please restate the theme you’ve chosen here.
You also need to decide if you agree or disagree with the theme. Once you’ve added your opinion please support it with an example from your life/another book/movie that
supports your answer.
