Question 6What have you learnt about technologies

from the process of constructing this product?

Over the course of creating my media product I have learnt to use new technologies and tools to help me create. Some of the software's I had used:

- Photoshop- Google Drive- SlideShare- Prezi- Blogger

PhotoshopThis software played a vital role in the creation of my music

magazine due to the fact that I had created nearly everything with it. It enabled me to edit pictures and add text as well as experiment with certain elements of Photoshop. I was able to learn how to use multiple tools such as the magic wand tool, or overlaying a pattern onto an image. It allowed me to learn new skills and develop my magazine at a higher quality, text and images could easily be manipulated. I felt I have learnt a lot from using it. There are multiple tools in Photoshop not all of them were used however I had used a good majority of them. One of the highlighting factors of using this software was that it enabled me to quickly manipulate images as well as overlay images. This was key to creating my front cover.

Google DriveI had used Google drive throughout the entirety of my

production of the magazine as well as research and planning. It was a easy and accessible tool which allowed me to upload many pictures as well as documents throughout my project. It was used to transfer files as well to and from school. I kept all my photographs on there, they remained there safely and securely. I found it to be a great tool and I had learned a lot about Google drive, I had even used Google documents a integration into this software which also proved to be an extremely useful software. It is also universal as it can be used anywhere as long as you have access to internet. There are also multiple plugins which can be used however I didn’t find myself installing or using any.

SlideshareSlideshare was a technology which is revolved around

power point presentations. It is a quick way to share power points easily on the web. Therefore when I had used it, I could easily upload any file and take advantage of its ability to be embedded into most sites. For this instance I could use it on my blog and present my work neatly. Furthermore it also offers the ability to download presentations if you set it to. This is a feature I found to be useful as it allowed for people to give feedback on it. However I had rarely used this feature of Slideshare. It’s main purpose is to present my work and I think that it was excellent and I have learnt a lot about since I first used it.

PreziPrezi was another form of presenting my work

in a more unique and creative way, it shows individualism which is great for my project. As creativity is more beneficial to attracting my audience. However when I first used prezi I didn’t know how it worked however I now know that it is good for presenting a bulk of information clearly in a mind map form. As a form of software technology it is good and I learnt how to edit texts and add pictures to my Prezi which was extremely useful.

BloggerAt the start of the project I had zero experience

in terms of using blogger, so when I started using it I didn’t have a clue how it worked. But after using it, I was able to learn about it and how useful it was. It is the main way of displaying my work in a neat and organized way. There are multiple options in the settings for custimization which allowed me to customize my blog to my liking appropriate for my audience. As a technology I have learnt that blogger is a quick way of sharing information as well as news.
