What have you learnt about

technologies from contrasting

your products?

The different technologies I have used

for my product:• Prezi

• Blogger

• Slideshare

• Word

• Indesign

• Photoshop

• My digital camera

Prezi

• Prezi is a web-based presentation software and story telling tool that opens up a new world between whiteboards and slides.

• Before working on my media coursework I had never heard of Prezi. But now after using it, I think that it is a fantastic way of sharing your presentations and developing your computer technology skills.

• By using this I learnt how to edit my pathway on it, add images and play around with different themes of my choice.

Blogger

• Blogger is Google’s free tool for creating blogs.

• Before using blogger for my coursework, I had

never heard of it or even considered using it.

• However now that I use it, I think that it is a great

way of communicating and sharing your work,

images, videos and thoughts with others.

• I also think that it is great in helping present your

work in a more complex way.

Slideshare

• Slideshare is an online service in which users

can upload files .

• Slideshare was yet again new to me. However

by using slideshare I have learnt that there are

many other ways for me to show my work and

share it with others to expand my technology

knowledge.

• Looking at other peoples slides has also helped

me to research instead of always using google.

Microsoft Word

• Before creating my product I did know how to

use Microsoft Word very well as it was one of

the main technologies that I would use everyday.

• However it did prove to be very handy when

drawing up my magazine plans and writing

essays that needed to be spell checked to save

time.

Adobe InDesign

• Before designing my music magazine, I had

never used Adobe InDesign before. However

now that I have used it, I feel that I have become

very advanced with using its features and can

create products/documents with no trouble.

• It helped me to explore numerous advanced

features that I had never heard of before and

now after learning how to use them. I shall be

likely to use them in the future.

Photoshop

• Before using Photoshop to edit my pictures for

my magazine, I had used it before but only to

crop and brighten my images. I didn’t know how

to use any of the other features.

• I now have learnt how to use the majority of

Photoshops features and have now become

more advanced with what I can do to my images

to make them look even better.

Google

• Google was one of the main technologies that I

used throughout the making of my magazine.

Without Google I would not have been able to

do research into other magazines, companies

and information that was essential to learn

about.

• Google also helped me to look at images of

other magazines and tips so that I could make

my magazine more advance.

Use of my digital camera

• My digital camera was seen very important

when taking the pictures for my magazine.

• I learnt that it is beneficial to use digital

technology as your end product of work comes

out higher quality and it reduces the risk of

problems such as blurring of your images.

• By using digital technology I was able to expand

my knowledge so that I can now use my camera

more often.

Conclusion

• In conclusion I believe that I have learnt a great

deal of advance features by using all of these

technologies and I know that I shall be using the

majority of them again to make my work

appealing and varied.

• I have also learnt there are significant elements

in technology programmes which make the

programmes more complicated to use but very

useful once you learn how to use it.
