What have you leant from your audience feedback?

What we did...

• To begin planning our soap trailer we conducted on online survey on Survey Monkey which we shared on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter for our friends to respond to.

• We proposed multiple choice questions such as “What channel would you prefer the show to be broadcast on?”

• We aimed this at our Facebook friends as the majority of our Facebookfriends are of a similar age and are our primary audience.

• Older and younger siblings may have answered but that was only a minority and fitted in perfectly with our secondary audience.

What we did...

• We researched into existing soaps and melodramas. We looked at the statistics, time and day in which the programme

was on.

• For example, we looked at the Skins and Hollyoaks statistics as the base of reference.

• We used these figures to propose answers for our multiple choice questions.

What we found...

Q1

These are the results for the first question in our audience research survey. It allows us to see which channel is watched the most among our targeted audience so that we know which channel our soap will air on. 57.14% of the audience watched E4 the most out of the options available, whereas only 28.57% watch BBC and Channel 4 and nobody watched ITV2 therefore our soap should be aired on E4.

Q2

The results for this question show us that the majority of the audience would prefer a girl character to be named Ruby, 37.5% of the audience would like a girl character to be named Cassie and none of the audience would like a character to be named Teresa or Michelle. This means we will name the main female characters Ruby and Cassie.
