These are some start-ups I've been following for a while. List is obviously not

complete. Keep in mind that some of them, like Tuenti, are big enough not to be

considered startups in the classic sense. Also, it's very difficult to rate them "best"

without knowing exactly what kind of measuring you want to apply and how do you

    measure success.

(I'll keep updating the list based on comments and suggestions)

Glass (http://www.writeonglass.com ). Commenting and annotation system for

    the web.

Bookioo (http://www.bookioo.com ). Social planning and dating website.

Woices (http://www.woices.com ) Location based audio snippets -called echoes

    - anyone can record and leave in specific locations.

Mumumio (http://www.mumumio.com ) Online food shops, focusing in the

    gourmet selection.

Sindelantal (http://www.sindelantal.com ). Online food ordering from local

    restaurants.

Minube (http:www.minube.com ). Travel search engine.

Idealista (http://idealista.com ). Real state finder.

Bubok (http://www.bubok.com ). On demand book publishing.

11870 (http://11870.com ). Information directory and rating system of

professional services of any kind (anything form doctors to plumbers). Also

restaurants and bar reviews. In a sense, its like Yelp in the US.

Yumit (http://yumit.com ). Social network about gastronomy.

Tuenti (http://www.tuenti.com ). Often considered "the spanish Facebook" its a

popular social network among spanish teens and college students. Recently

Tuenti released their mobile phone carrier Tu.

Fon (http://www.fon.com ) WiFi Internet access sharing community.
